Frequently asked questions
Does Open Sudoku contain ads or paid features?
No. There are no ads, subscriptions, paid hints, locked puzzles, lives, or gameplay limits. Optional consumable tips support development and unlock nothing.
Can I play without internet access?
Yes. The bundled puzzle catalog, gameplay, hints, notes, settings, and local progress work offline. An internet connection is used only for optional services such as puzzle-pack updates, Sign in with Apple, iCloud synchronization, or tips.
Do I need an account?
No. Sign in with Apple is optional and separate from gameplay and iCloud progress sync.
How do I turn iCloud sync on or off?
Open Settings in the app and use “Sync progress with iCloud.” Your local progress remains on your device when sync is turned off. You can also remove the private iCloud copy from the same screen.
How do I delete my optional account?
Open Settings, find Optional Account, and choose Delete Account. Apple may ask you to authenticate again. Deleting the account does not automatically delete local or private iCloud game history; those controls are separate so you remain in charge of each copy.
How do I delete gameplay history?
Open Settings and choose Delete Local History. If iCloud sync is active, turn it off and use Delete iCloud Copy if you also want to remove the synchronized copy.
Why are optional tips shown as in-app purchases?
Apple processes voluntary tips through StoreKit. They are consumable purchases, not subscriptions, and they do not unlock content or remove limits.
Where can I report an accessibility issue?
Use the support email above. Open Sudoku includes VoiceOver-friendly actions, high-contrast mode, large digits and notes, hardware keyboard input, and both portrait and landscape layouts. Specific feedback helps improve them.
Privacy
Open Sudoku has no advertising or advertising tracking. It uses limited Firebase product analytics for the developer. Read the full privacy policy for details about analytics, optional iCloud, Firebase, Sign in with Apple, and StoreKit features.
